Yellow Pages Commando News by Dick Larkin
Ad Design Contest
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Paul Venya, owner of TV Plumbing in Santa
Monica, called me asking for advice on making
his Yellow
Pages advertising work for him.
Rather than do any actual work myself, I thought
that it would be fun to have a contest and give
the winner an iPod Shuffle.
Paul sent me an ad that had been prepared for
him by his YP rep.
I thought that it would be fun to have a contest
to see who could design the best ad for him.
Using the RASCIL Prep Sheet for Plumbing
Contractors he indicated what he would want
customers to know about him.
To make it worth your time, I'm going to give an
Apple iPod Shuffle to the creators of the two
best ads.
Here are the rules.
1. Using the information from the Interview Questionnaire Sheets and his current ad, create an original full-page ad for TV Plumbing. Click here to view the Interview Questionnaire Sheet marked up showing information relevant to his business. It isn't necessary to include all of the information. Simply make the BEST AD.
2. The ad may be any dimension, as long as it
is a FULL-PAGE. I don't want people freaking
out trying to make the exact dimensions.
3. The ad may be in full color, one color on
white knock out, or in black ink on yellow.
4. If you have the ad electronically, you can email it to me at Dick@YPcommando.com. If you need to mail it, send it to:
Dick Larkin Yellow Pages Commando Ad Contest
8344 Clairemont Mesa Blvd.
San Diego, CA 92111
(858) 614-5425
5. Voting and selection. I will post all
entries on my Yellow Pages Commando web site
(www.YPcommando.com). Voting
will be open to
the public. Voters will email me their
selection for the best ad. It isn't necessary to include all of the information from the questionnaire. Simply make the BEST AD. I have sole
discretion to select the winners.
6. Anyone may enter. The entry must be received by March 31 to be eligible to win. Winners will be announced on April 29, 2005.
7. By submitting an ad, you grant me the
unrestricted right to use it in any manner for
any purpose.
Somebody will win the iPods, so
why not give it your best shot?
